Love and Attraction

There’s been a bit of perplexity with these two words, though they are so common in our every day vocabulary. So there’s always that question if you are either attracted to someone, you love them or even both. Attraction is said to be a force or a pull towards something or someone. It’s almost involuntary with people, unlike the physics theory of two opposite sides pulling towards each other. There is no perfect timing. It can happen any time, any day and with anyone. Usually when you meet or see that person you’re attracted to, there is a feeling of “warmth” in your heart and you immediately feel like you are in love.

Attraction may be the first step to loving someone but should never be confused to mean love. You get attracted to someone for their physical appearance, personality or even talent but with love it is a deeper ball game that despite the “eventual” absence of attraction, you still love them. People who are attracted to each other may fall in lust or in love. With the former, it ends with the physical pull, self-needs or sex but with the latter you’re focused on the other party’s happiness. Love comes with accepting all their flaws and it is what creates room for really knowing a person.
